» In Paysages et jardins divers . Gilles.A. Tiberghien.

“The art of gardens is first of all the art of gardeners – engineers, nurserymen and designers, ideologists and rhetoricians – Artists deep inside and above all ; but of the kind of those who work not after but on nature itself in order to shape it according to the idea they want to convey, and not to conform to it. But it would take for them to know what Nature is.
However, in the eyes of the gardener and the artist just the same, this latter is undetermined.
This landscape with a capital letter is the dominant pictorial model in the composition of classical gardens.” In Landscape and gardens, Gilles A. Tiberghien
I propose evocations of nature through artefacts, landscaping or setups.
The aim is not the shaping, the determination or the telling of a landscape, but the representation, the figuration of a sensation, a season, a constitutive element of nature by isolating it from its surrounding, namely the landscape through the artificial, the plastic language.
It is not about working ‘on’ but ‘after and with’ nature. At first, those propositions come from a naïve and contemplative attitude, a direct and instant experience, in the manner of haikus.
Just like for those ones, there are several levels of reading. Once the elements are set up, the meaning and the emotion go through their choice and their position one to another.
It is to the viewer to make up his own tale.
I thus develop my artistic projects as subjective and not thorough lists in the spirit of « The Pillow Book » by Sei Shonagon.
